Friends and church members lead the way…

Here is a letter from Christine Jeanbart, mother of Greg Silah about the members of Gregs church and Sunday school. Parents and children alike are rallying around the familys of Greg, Alex and Zaven, missing since July 2nd, showing support and dedication towards their safe return.

Christine showed heart felt emotion when she told me about the efforts and the love shown towards her and the boys when I spoke to her about the event. She said, “I can’t believe how everyone is trying to help so much. How can I  thank them”. I told her “just bring the children home!”.

 From Christine,

This past Sunday, Sept. 21st we had a church rally at our church (United
Armenian Congregational Church). I stood behind the table with Nadya
Malconian (who organized the event with Rev. Ron Tovmassian, our senior
pastor).

The fundraising was announced in the church handout saying: Information
About the Silah Children is on www.findthesilahchildren.com. This website
has been designed to help raise money to find the kids and for information.
Please continue to pray for the Silah families.

Wrist bands support the effort to find the Silah children

There was a general prayer by the senior minister Rev. Ron Tovmassian who
asked the congregation to pray and support. He had a band already on his
wrist and asked everyone to buy one after church and make a generous
donation.

At the Sunday school Greg’s friends did a special prayer for his safe
return. His teacher came to me and gave me a warm hug and said that everyone
misses Greg and that he is always in their prayers.

At the rally their was a poster with the pictures of the boys and the
criminal fathers that abducted them (Nadya had done a great job putting it together) A lot of people
approached me and expressed their sympathy and showed moral support while
buying the wrist bands. I could not hold my tears.

Here is the letter that Nadya had typed and distributed at the rally:

Greg, Alex and zaven Silah were abducted by thier fathers on July 2nd, 2008.
Their mothers, Christine Jeanbart and Zanni Meguerian, have not seen or
heard from them since. These children have been members of our Sunday School
and we are trying to raise money to help in their safe return.

The rest of the letter talks about the cost of the wrist bands and all the
details about the ARC foundation and our website.

We are collecting donations for the Association fo rthe Recovery of Children
(ARC) - Silah Operation and all donations are tax deductible.  Please make
checks payable to……..

Nadya told me that she will be doing this every Sunday after church as long
as it takes until the boys are found. I was really touched! God bless her
heart and bless all those who have been helping me with this ordeal.

Christine
